Monsoon Rains Live Updates: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke to senior ministers and officials to take stock of the situation as rain continues to batter north India. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal too held a meeting to review the situation amid heavy rains and rising water level in river Yamuna. Kejriwal said that Delhi's systems are not designed to take such unprecedented rain, therefore, people faced troubles. He also stated that if Yamuna river crosses the 206 metres mark, then the government will start evacuation along the banks of the river.

Shale oil is extracted by drilling down two miles to where the layers of shale oil exists and then high pressure bursts of water, sand and chemicals are pumped in to extract the oil. Shale oil can be drilled by using multistage fracking as well as horizontal drilling. Shale oil extraction methods are more flexible than traditional oilwell drilling but fracking  is also disadvantageous as it requires the usage of a great quantity of natural resources.
